Fluorescent

When I was in college, I was listening to a lot of Dave Matthews Band. I loved their arrangements and Dave’s ability to tell stories. So I picked up my guitar and starting improvising, and eventually wrote what would become “Fluorescent.” It’s a song that’s stayed with me for over 2 decades and continues to be one of my favorites.

Oh my god, I never thought I’d end up this way

The lyrics tell a story about a love that is going so well, but the storyteller knows that it can’t last. With one simple line, the illusion of this “perfect” relationship is broken. It’s a beautifully sad track that has stood the test of time for me, and I’m happy I was able to recently record it professionally and share it with you all.
